How to Add a New Patient – Step-by-Step Tutorial

This guide will walk you through the simple, 6-step process of creating a new patient in the Myline portal.

First, click on the New Patient button in the main header menu. You will be greeted with the "How it Works" screen, which outlines the six stages of patient creation.

Click the blue "Start Now!" button to begin. A window will pop up to guide you through the following steps.

In the first tab, enter the patient's basic information:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender

Click Next.

Click “Choose File” to select and upload a clear portrait photo of the patient from your computer. Click Next.

On this tab, you will define the entire treatment plan by answering a detailed questionnaire about the case.

Important Note: Pay close attention to options marked with [Rec.]. These are the Myline-recommended settings for the best results and predictability. When you are unsure about an option, it is always a good idea to select the recommended [Rec.] choice.

You will need to make selections for key aspects of the treatment, including:

  • The overall Treatment Package
  • Which Arches to be treated
  • Midline and Arch form preferences
  • Expansion and IPR (Interproximal Reduction) options
  • Attachment settings and other clinical details.

At the very bottom, you must fill in the 'Main aims of Treatment' text box. In your own words, please specify the orthodontic problems that need to be fixed for this case.

Once you have made all your selections, click Next.

Upload all of the required clinical photos. Each box represents a different view needed for the patient’s records. Click Next.

Upload the scan files for the Upper Arch, Lower Arch, and Bite. If you are using an intraoral or model scan, you can paste a link into the text box provided. Click Next.

In the final step, upload the required radiographs, such as the Panoramic Radiograph. Once all files are uploaded, click the blue “Finish” button to complete the process and create the new patient record.
